"sun/day" + a character meaning "behead/kill" which is a combination of "vehicle/palanquin" and "axe" - hence original meaning was to kill someone in their palanquin, which had to be done swiftly! Also with connotation of beheade began to connote swiftness - then together with sun/day a short while. Confusingly it can also mean a long time (like English " a while".
